The Waste Use Efficiency funding stream supports projects that contribute to the creation of new value, the diversion, or new applications for agri-processing waste products, by-products, or co-products.


Intake Information

Eligible Applicants

Eligible applicants include:

  • agri-food processors
  • agri-product processors
  • licensed commercial kitchens
  • Indigenous Government/Indigenous individuals, businesses, communities, and organizations, other Indigenous groups undertaking agricultural initiatives
  • wholesalers (food, ingredients)
  • abattoirs

Eligible Activities

Project Timeline

Project activities must be completed, and all reports submitted on or before February 1, 2027.

Cost share Funding

50 per cent government and 50 per cent applicant to a maximum contribution of $250,000 per project
